When I first became a Physical Therapist Assistant in 1998 I started working at Maine Medical Center. Since that time I have worked in a variety of PT settings from a private practice in the Old Port of Portland, to nursing homes in Portland and in the Lewiston Auburn area and St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston. Working in these settings has given me the opportunity to learn a variety of techniques by working with many different types of clients.

When I worked in the Old Port I was introduced to Cranio Sacral therapy. I was already happy with the type of therapy I was doing, but when I set my hands on the first person I treated using this subtle, gentle and effective technique I knew why I had been born. For the first time in my life! I had been looking for this all of my life. I had no idea what exactly I was looking for, I just followed my path as well as I could. Since then I have taken 4 of Upledger's Cranio Sacral courses and became a Reiki Master. I use both of them all the time. I am also trained in Therapeutic Touch and Omega Shakti Magnetic Energy.

The manual therapy of the Cranio Sacral led me to massage school. I lived at Kripalu Center in Lenox, Mass. for 3 months during the winter of 2007. This gave me the 500 hours of training I needed to become a Licensed Massage Therapist in Maine. They have really wonderful programs for the public every day of the year that you can see on their website. The massage program there is based on Swedish Massage techniques with the adition of the Kripalu focus on positive intention, a meditative attitude and deep relaxation for each client. I love going back to shool and often find myself signing up for more courses to take to add to my toolbox of physical therapy techniques.

My love of these manual therapies led me eventually to Greater Brunswick Physical Therapy. I started here in the winter of 2009 and I feel like I am at home working along side people who, like me, feel gratified to help people reduce their pain and improve their level of activity by using a variety of techniques.

One of the techniques I have enjoyed developing here is in the Aquatics Program at the Lewiston YWCA.
I've always loved being in the water so every Friday morning I get to enjoy the very pleasant atmosphere in the pool with one of the other therapists and our clients.
