PT

Before I even graduated from high school I was a volunteer physical therapy aide. I went on to earn a Bachelor's of Science in Physical Therapy from Russell Sage College, in 1989, graduating with high honors. I worked at St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston from 1989-1992. Then, on maternity leave with my second daughter, I joined Greater Brunswick PT, as a part time therapist. After a two and a half year sabbatical in Keflavik Iceland, where I treated patients in my home and gave community lectures, I returned to GBPT full time. I was thrilled to return as I really enjoy the manual therapy techniques that we are able to practice here.

I live in Brunswick with my husband, retired from the U.S. Navy, my two daughters, numerous pets, and farm animals. I look forward to continuing my community education efforts, teaching posture and biomechanics in area schools. In addition to being a physical therapist, I am an artist and landscape gardener, and recently illustrated my first book.

"I'm Glad I Chose Greater Brunswick Physical Therapy"
~ Keith Ruona

Keith was shocked when his doctors told him he needed spinal surgery or he would never walk again. But after surgery, he was still weak and using a walker. That's when he started aquatic therapy. "Pool therapy has been absolutely critical to my recovery process, especially in re-building muscle strength, range of motion and restoring my balance." Today Keith walks with a cane and a spring in his step. "I like the one-on-one therapy I get in the pool. The therapists are right there, hands-on, observing, and modifying so I'm gaining the most from every visit. I can literally feel the progress I'm making. I feel on top of the world! You folks have restored my confidence and given me the desire to go on."
