Reiki
Practiced worldwide as a simple and profoundly relaxing type of bodywork, Reiki is offered by Greater Brunswick PT as a adjunct modality to aid in the body's natural healing process.
Done before or after a physical therapy treatment, a short session of Reiki may reduce pain, relax the body, and promote healing through activating the parasympathetic nervous system and balancing the electromagnetic field surrounding the body.
Treatment consists of stationary hand positions on or above the patient, is believed to help balance the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual components of the whole person. Reiki has no contraindications, being instead a compliment to all other healing modalities.
