Massage

At GBPT, massage, Myofascial Release, and trigger point work may all be a part of your treatment plan. Our massage therapist, Sally Bechelle, LMT and David Peloquin, LMT, use a variety of massage styles depending on your condition.

While massage may be covered by Workers Compensation and select insurances, it is also available on an out-of-pocket basis for a reasonable fee. Many patients choose to continue receiving massage on a regular basis as a part of their wellness plan.

The muscles are the foot soldiers of the body, protectors of the body's more delicate systems and organs. Muscles may spasm and create "trigger points" as a protective response when underlying structures are compromised.

Massage helps to lessen muscle tone and relieve tension, which can improve the effectiveness of more subtle manual techniques. Massage can also improve the circulation, as well as stimulate and remove lactic acid and other bi-products of inflammation.

"I'm Glad I Chose Greater Brunswick PT"
~ Marc Rodrigue, Lewiston

Marc Rodrigue knew he would need surgery for the herniated disk in his back, but he wanted to postpone it until he was ready to take the time off work. "My wife sees Pam Morgan, at LAPT , for chronic neck pain. She swears by her so I got a referral for my sciatica. Pam did me a world of good. She helped me manage the pain until I was ready to have surgery. Afterwards she helped speed the recovery process. I'd recommend Pam to anyone in pain as an option to try before surgery."
